Prevention is better than cure. We all have come across the old proverb and somewhat ignore it when it comes to our own health and fitness. The rise in diseases like diabetes, obesity, insomnia, cancer and cardiac problems has alarmed the medical fraternity as well as governments. The sedentary lifestyle of modern times and mental stress are the two principal reasons for the rise in these ‘lifestyle diseases’. Health experts around the world advocate for adoption of some routine physical exercise formats like yoga Newport so that these diseases may be prevented in the first place. Studies have shown that people who do regular physical exercises and maintain a disciplined life style are less likely to suffer from these common health issues and lead long and healthy life.

Yoga exercises have gained popularity around the world in last few years and are reckoned as one of the best exercise regimes for fitness, both physical and mental. In contrast to the gym training or other rigorous exercise activities, yoga exercises can be done by people of all age groups. All that one has to do is to select few appropriate postures (also called asanas in Sanskrit) and practice these asanas in the recommended way.

The subject of Yoga is not a modern invention but has proven track record of centuries of tradition in India. One can find numerous ancient texts and manuscripts written by hand on palm leaves which elaborate on different aspects and remedies of the yoga exercises. Interestingly, many modern research scholars and medical experts have conducted extensive clinical studies on the facts mentioned in those treatises and have concurred with the results.
